When rising quickly from a sitting or lying position, dizziness or lightheadedness may occur. Change positions slowly. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness (such as driving) if this drug makes you dizzy or drowsy. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication. This drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Carisoprodol is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may take including: sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, narcotic pain relievers, medication for depression and certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). Many cough-and-cold products contain antihistamines, which can cause drowsiness. Check labels carefully and consult your pharmacist if you have any questions. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. DO NOT TAKE VIOXX IF YOU HAVE HAD A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION to aspirin or any medicine containing aspirin or to a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (such as Feldene, Motrin, Naprosyn, Clinoril). A severe reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness. If you have a question about whether you are allergic to Vioxx or if a certain medicine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, contact your doctor or pharmacist. IF YOU EXPERIENCE difficulty breathing; tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; or if you develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor immediately. Do not take any more doses of Vioxx unless your doctor tells you to do so. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take Vioxx for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using Vioxx. ALCOHOL WARNING: If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, ask your doctor whether you should take Vioxx or other pain relievers/fever reducers. This medicine may cause stomach bleeding. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines that contain ibuprofen, naproxen, or ketoprofen. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Vioxx during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF VIOXX IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking Vioxx. - have had an allergic reaction such as asthma attacks, hives, or swelling of the throat and face to aspirin or other NSAIDs (for example, ibuprofen and naproxen). CAN I TAKE CELEBREX IF I AM PREGNANT? INCLUDE IN YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY/PERSONAL PROFILE : - Warfarin (a blood thinner). IS CELEBREX A SUBSTITUTE FOR CORTICOSTEROIDS? Vioxx is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) known as a COX-2 inhibitor used to relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis and to treat pain and menstrual discomfort. Consult your healthcare professional before using any of our products. If you are one of the many people who take low-dose aspirin for the prevention of heart attack or stroke, you can still take CELEBREX. However, taking CELEBREX and aspirin together can increase your risk for developing stomach ulcers compared to taking CELEBREX alone. CELEBREX is not a substitute for aspirin for heart attack or stroke prevention. - Lithium (a medicine used to treat a certain type of depression). This medication relaxes muscles and relieves pain and discomfort associated with strains, sprains, spasms or other muscle injuries. Muscle relaxers are for specific muscle injury and pain and should not be used for general body aches and pains. - If you have kidney disease. CAN I TAKE CELEBREX IF I AM PREGNANT? Do not take CELEBREX if you: INCLUDE IN YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY/PERSONAL PROFILE : - If you are breast-feeding or plan to breast-feed. It is not known whether Celebrex is passed through to human breast milk and what its effects could be on a nursing child. - You should continue to take CELEBREX as prescribed even when you are feeling better. CELEBREX can be taken with or without food. Celebrex is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that represents a huge breakthrough in the treatment of pain, inflammation, and stiffness of arthritis. - If you are breast-feeding or plan to breast-feed. It is not known whether Celebrex is passed through to human breast milk and what its effects could be on a nursing child. This medication may cause stomach upset, heartburn, headache, dizziness or drowsiness. If these symptoms persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Inform your doctor promptly if you develop: persistent stomach pain, rapid heart rate. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. - Severe liver problems, including hepatitis, jaundice and liver failure, occur rarely in patients taking NSAIDs, including CELEBREX. Symptoms of liver problems include nausea, tiredness, itching, tenderness in the right upper abdomen, and flu-like symptoms. |
